17-year-od midfielder Zack Hargreaves has been selected to represent the Lancashire FA Under 18s.
The youngster, who has already featured for the Ramsbottom first team in Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division this season, will join the rest of the Lancashire FA squad at the County Ground in Leyland this coming Saturday (2nd April) for the 2pm kick-off as Lancashire take on the Sheffield and Hallam FA team.
Having begun his career as a junior at Bury FC, this award is a recognition of his talent which will hopefully see Zack becoming a regular at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium in the years to come.
Everyone at Ramsbottom sends their congratulations.
Zack’s recognition comes on the back of Aaron Smith’s selection for England Colleges Under 18s against Scotland, in which he scored the winning goal, while first-year Ramsbottom United Academy graduate, 16-year-old Josh Alexander, has been included in the squad for the Manchester FA County Under 18s.
Manchester FA County U18 manager, James Kinsey, has marked Josh out as one to watch for next season, as he has been particularly impressed with his skills so far in light of him being the youngest in the squad – and his prowess has already been recognised by an invitation to train with the first XI.
