Ramsbottom United featured heavily on television and radio on what was classed “Non-League Day”, as a result of the top two divisions of English football having no games.

BBC TV’s “Look North West” sent a camera crew down for the Northwich Victoria match on Saturday (7th Sept), and reporter Alex Worsick featured Chairman Harry Williams, joint-managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley, programme editor and website master Richard Isaacs, all the way from his home in Southampton, a couple of regular supporters, and Jack Wolfenden, who they claimed must be the oldest ballboy in the country, aged 79!

On the same day, assistant secretary Tony Cunningham appeared on Radio Lancashire before and after the game discussing both the match and “Non-League Day”.
