Making his debut for Ramsbottom United on Saturday against Wakefield was new signing Darren Green (pictured).

Not to be confused with the club’s coach of the same name, he arrives from fellow-Evo-Stik League side Kendal Town, having previously played for Northwich Victoria and Lancaster City, and a brief spell at Nelson.

The 24 year old can play in midfield or up front, and he went straight into the Rams side on Saturday against Wakefield and took just 22 minutes before netting his first goal for his new club.

Co-manager Anthony Johnson said, “Darren is a good, solid performer and we are delighted to have signed him to increase our striking options but he can also play in midfield so covers quite a bit for us.”
