Ramsbottom United’s successful promotion campaign was celebrated on Friday night (16th May) at the adjacent Cricket Club which saw a number of the players recognised for their outstanding seasons in the blue and white shirt.
Joint-managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley were presented with the “Play-off Winners Trophy” by Chairman Harry Williams, as the Rams grabbed the second promotion spot in Evo-Stik North to move into the clubs’ highest ever position in the football pyramid, the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division.

The players also received accolades on the night.
“Clubman of the Year” went to full-back Owen Robers in his first season with the club. Owen Roberts (right) receiving his award from the joint-managers.
“Players Player of the Year” was scooped by industrious midfielder Gary Stopforth, who also figured in the Evo-Stik Team of the Year. The midfield dynamo received his award from the joint-managers Anthony (left) and Bernard (right).
The “Supporters Player of the Year” went to former Barnoldswick Town defender Billy Priestley, who joined the Rams early in the season. Having proved a solid addition to the defence, he narrowly beat Gary Stopforth to the supporters award. A delighted Billy picked up his awards, having been presented by the joint-managers.
