Southern League strugglers Yaxley make the long journey up to the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium on Tuesday for the replay of this 2nd Qualifying round FA Trophy tie, after the two teams drew in Cambridgeshire last Tuesday.

The Rams know just what a journey it is between the two clubs, and Yaxley will certainly not be relishing the trip, especially on their current form which sees them sitting just outside the relegation places.

The Rams on the other hand, are now on a ten game unbeaten run, and the latest victory at Colwyn Bay on Saturday strengthened their fourth place position in Division One West.

The turnaround since Chris Willcock came in as manager has been quite amazing, and a run in the trophy not only builds this new look squads’ confidence, but also bolsters the club’s finances.

Pickering Town await the winners on Saturday, a ridiculously late decision for the north Yorkshire club, not helped by the intransigence of the FA regarding the complications behind this particular tie.

So whilst the Rams will go into the game looking to make progress, the visitors will be hoping to make the return journey to Peterborough as short as possible, and, amazingly, a return home with a victory usually does that. The Rams need to beware!

If the scores are level after 90 minutes, there will be an additional 30 minutes of extra time, followed if necessary by penalties, as the tie must be concluded on the night.
