The Rams will continue their pre-season preparations this Saturday with a short trip to the Neuven stadium to face Northern Premier League Premier Division side Radcliffe FC.

Chris Willcock will be hoping his side can build on the 5-4 victory at Barnoldswick on Tuesday.

“On a personal note, at Barnoldswick, it was good to get back to some form of normality regarding competitive matches”, said Willcock.

“It was also good to have a look at new players we have recruited in a competitive involvement as well as some trialists.”

Last time the two sides met way back in April 2019, Radcliffe ran out 3-0 winners and the Rams will be looking to put this right.

Willcock is looking forward to the challenge of facing a team higher up the non-league pyramid.

He said, “I am looking forward to seeing how we deal with higher league opposition.”

Rammy came out unscathed during Tuesdays win, meaning the gaffer will once again have a fully fit squad to pick from.

The manager also wanted to update fans on the current situation at the club both on and off the pitch.

“Off-field, the new website looks fantastic and I am looking forward to working with the new media team.”

“On the management side of things, it’s great to see Diego Donafee return, I know he is well-liked within the club and by everyone involved.”

He also wanted to express his thanks to the fans helping get the stadium ready for the new season but also wanted to stress how vital it is for you to support the club during these testing times.

“One thing that has concerned me is that it is the same volunteers in and around the ground working tirelessly to get the ground ready for the upcoming season”, expressed Willcock.

“On the back of COVID 19, your club needs your support more than ever not just on match days. Up the Rams!”

Please note – This game will be played behind closed doors.
