Saturday will spell the start of a new chapter for the Rams as new manager Lee Donafee will take charge for the first time following the departure of Chris Willcock.
Rammy will be welcoming neighbours Bury AFC for what will be the first game back on home soil since the 31st October last year
The Shakers, like the Rams, were flying in the league last season sitting top of the NWCFL North West Division having won 5 of their first 7 before it was halted due to covid.
This will be a particularly special occasion for supporters as it will be the first time the two sides have met since Bury AFC was established at the end of 2019 following the demise of Bury FC.
Saturday will be the fifth test of pre-season so far for Donafee’s men as preparations continue ahead of the new campaign.
The Rams have won 3 and lost 1 so far, the most recent being a 2-1 victory away at Irlam in mid-week.
As for this weekend’s visitors, it will be their 8th outing already this pre-season having suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Hanley town last time out.
As always with pre-season, there have also been a number of trialists and familiar faces for the gaffer to look over as he moulds his team together for the coming season.
All tickets for the game will be pay-on-the-gate and we advise that you arrive early to ensure entry.
Tickets are priced at £5 for adults, £3 for over-65s and under 16s.
We can’t wait to have fans back again at the HWRS and look forward to seeing you all!
