Ramsbottom United can confirm the signing of Regan Jarrett.

Jarrett is no stranger to the club, he joined the club at the age of 16 and has played mainly for the development squad, but has made 29 first team apps, the majority from the bench under Mark Fell.

He’s also had loan spells at Abbey hey, Avro, Skelmersdale and most recently Daisy Hill where he played against the Rams in a recent pre-season friendly.

The 21-year-old has not worn a first-team shirt in three years and the opportunity was too good to turn down he said.

Speaking to ramsbottomunited.co.uk after signing Jarrett said: “It feels good to be back in the first-team squad at Ramsbottom, I’ve been playing with the development squad bettering my game and trying to push myself into the first-team squad for a while and when Lee phoned me up to get me back amongst the boys it felt good and I couldn’t turn it down, I can’t wait to get started and hopefully have a successful season and get promoted.”

Jarrett spoke on his game has changed: “My speed of play has improved from training with the first team over the years and I’ve noticed in myself my technical ability and the way I read the game has got better from playing and learning with better quality players. I’ve gone from playing Striker/Left Midfield to playing Left-back and Left Midfield so in terms of position wise I’ve had to learn a lot and learn quickly, and I feel like things are only getting better.

He concluded: “Hopefully I’ll be contributing with some goals and assists as I know I can provide that for the team, and we can push on from the past 2 seasons which have been made null and void.”

Manager, Lee Donafee said: “Regan is a player I’ve admired for a few years he’s a talented footballer who will be a great addition to the squad.

He’s come through the Rammy youth and development squads and is fully deserving to be around the first team.”

Jarrett featured in the game against Bury AFC last Saturday and is in contention for tomorrow’s pre-season trip to Bala Town.
