Ramsbottom United are delighted to announce the signing of winger James Murphy.

The 24-year-old has played in the Welsh pyramid for the majority of this career so far, having spells at Rhyl, Newtown & Airbus UK Broughton. More recently he was at North West Counties side Litherland REMYCA before joining the Rams.

Speaking to ramsbottomunited.co.uk after signing Murphy said: “The step-up attracted me to sign the better standard of football and the manager being keen to sign me it really helped me make my mind up.

It’s great to be playing again after so long off, the aim was to just stay fit and keeping ticking over as we didn’t know when we could be back in, but now it’s back and the season is starting I’m buzzing for it.

Pre-season has been good for myself personally a lot of fitness and games to get ready for the new season.

Buzzing for the first game of the season away to the City of Liverpool looking forward to being involved and seeing what the league is about, I want to bring goals and assist to the team this season and energy and I’m confident I can do.”

Manager, Lee Donafee said: “James Murphy is a player who was on our radar, I was delighted when he agreed to join us and since he’s come in with us he’s been impressive, James is an exciting young player and will be a valuable member to the squad.“
