Ramsbottom United are delighted to announce the appointment of Lee Donafee as the club’s first team manager.
Donafee has been appointed following the departure of Chris Willcock yesterday.
Nicknamed ‘Diego’ he joined the club as assistant manager alongside Willcock in 2018.
Lee will be aiming to continue the recent success as the Rams look to make it fourth time lucky in their quest for promotion to the Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division, beginning with a trip to City of Liverpool when the campaign begins on 14th August.
His predecessor has now taken the managerial role at Workington AFC.
Club chairman Harry Wiliams commented on the departure of Mr Willcock: “Chris has done an excellent job during his time with the club. He has increased support levels and the profile, whilst putting out successful and entertaining teams.
“He always showed great dedication to the job and we are grateful for what he has done for Ramsbottom United.
“It was a difficult decision for him, but we wish him well at Workington”.
Donafee will be taking charge of this first game tomorrow afternoon as Bury AFC come to the Riverside.
He will speak to the media for the first time as manager following the game tomorrow.
