The final pre-season friendly before the League campaign starts on 18th August, is this coming Friday when the Rams meet Evo-Stik Premier Division side Lancaster City.

The game is being played at a neutral venue – Fulwood Amateurs ground in Lightfoot Lane, Preston (PR4 0AE) – with a 7.00pm kick-off.

This will be the last chance for any aspiring trialists to show manager Mark Fell that they have the required attributes to compete in what looks like being a very evenly contested Evo-Stik West League this time round.

With many of last season’s squad already having re-signed, along with a number of newcomers, the Rams boss will be hoping to put the disappointing result and performance at Pontefract last Saturday to bed, and begin the new season at home to Market Drayton Town on the back of an encouraging performance against a strong Lancaster City side, which established itself in the Premier Division last season following promotion.
