It’s been a busy week at the Riverside. Goalkeeper Martin Fearon arrived earlier in the week followed by forward Max Hazeldine, and the Rams have completed their Christmas shopping with the addition of 26-year-old midfielder Adam Kay.
Preston-based Kay began his career at Burnley under Owen Coyle, tasting first team football as a substitute against Bristol Rovers in 2007. He spent three years in the professional ranks at Turf Moor, including Football League appearances for Accrington Stanley on loan. He also spent time in the Conference at Chester and Stalybridge Celtic.
After a break from football, Kay returned to training with the Rams earlier this month, impressing joint managers Mark Fell and Paul Fildes so much that they moved quickly to secure his signature. Kay is a tenacious midfielder who’s class and quality will undoubtedly make him an instant fan favourite at the Riverside.
