As Ramsbottom United chase a play-off spot in Evo-Stik North, a number of changes to the playing staff have taken place over the Christmas break.
Joint managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley have strengthened the squad with the addition of four players, whilst two have departed.
Joining the Rams are Lewis Lacy, Chris Denham, Andrew Fitzgerald and Ashley Reece.
Lewis Lacy is a 19 year old central defender who has arrived from local Premier Division side FC United of Manchester. The youngster has made eight appearances for the Bury-based side this season.
Local lad, Chris Denham, arrives with years of experience at the likes of Altrincham, Chorley and Droylsden. A renowned goalscorer throughout his career, he arrives from Premier Division Ashton United, and will prove an invaluable addition to the squad, who currently boast the highest number of goals per game in the Division.
Joining on a short term loan until 4th February, 20 year old Andrew Fitzgerald arrives from Skrill Premier strugglers Hyde, and is a product of the academy set-up at the Tameside club. He made his debut for the Tigers on the last day of last season against Lincoln City, and was named “Man of the Match”.
And joining the quartet is Ashley Reece. A local lad, the 23 year old has returned to this country after a spell in America playing for “University of Missouri FC”
The Rams welcome all four players to the HWRS.
Departing is full-back Kelvin Lomax, who joined the side upon his return from Australia early in the season. The former Oldham Athletic player moves to Hyde.
Also departed is midfielder Phil Edghill, who has signed for league rivals Salford City.
The Rams thank both players for their effort and commitment, and wish them well for the future.
