Defeat against league leaders.
Having been promoted last season, Darlington found themselves top of the league again after a 3-0 win at the Harry Williams Riverside in which the home team didn’t really get out of the starting blocks.
A mistake by Grant Shenton in the Ramsbottom goal, who had attempted to dribble his way out of trouble, gave Graham Amstrong a simple tap-in for Darlington’s opener within the quarter hour. Robert Youhill provided the second on 67 minutes, with Man of the Match Nathan Cartman finishing the job with just a couple of minutes remaining.
A trip to Nantwich midweek is followed by two home games – Barwell on Saturday and then high-flying Blyth Spartans a week on Tuesday.
