Ramsbottom United manager Mark Fell has strengthened his side’s defence by signing the experienced LIAM BROWNHILL, who can play either right or left back.

Having begun his career as a Junior at Stockport County, Brownhill moved into the Welsh Premier League with two spells at Bangor City as well as some time at Connah’s Quay Nomads.

Returning from the principality, he joined Witton Albion before a lengthy spell at Droylsden established him as one of the best full-backs in the league. He had a short time at Chester before the defender signed for FC United of Manchester in the summer of 2013.

He joined Trafford last season, but after a short stint at Glossop North End, he signed for the Rams in early October making his debut in the 2-1 win over Brighouse Town.

He certainly won’t feel out of place at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium, where he’ll renew acquaintances with his cousin Kyle Brownhill, and former team-mates at FC United, Dean Stott, Greg Daniels, Tom Greaves and Jerome Wright!
