The fourth new face to join the Rams this pre-season is none other than former Glossop star Ben Richardson.

The 28-year-old winger brings and impressive CV and bags of quality to the Riverside, hitting double figures in goals for the Hillmen last season and a remarkable amount of assists including three against the Rams!

“He was a key target for us from the get-go, we sat down with him over a month ago and although in the end its taken a bit of doing, Ben has impressed me with his professional approach.  He’s a top player in this league and an excellent character off the pitch.”

The Manchester based school teacher was very much in demand over the summer after announcing his Glossop departure, and the Rams have had to fend off suitors from the Evo-Stik Premier Division for his signature, Ben is the second former Glossop player in this summer, following team mate Eddie Moran to Rammy.

Richardson has been in training this week with his new teammates and is expected to pull on a Ramsbottom United shirt for the first time at the Riverside against Accrington Stanley on July 11th.

Hear from Ben, Mark Fell and Dean Stott over the weekend when the media team head to training on Saturday to catch up with the squad ahead of the new season.
